Hello,

When I have an oven rack on the lowest setting, I am not able to pull it out all the way, it collides with the oven door.
In other words, the oven door opens, but does not go down completely flat.

Is this normal?

Thank you,
Clutter-Bug

PS Had a party. All the men and women were drooling over my Chambers. Some had the nerve to ask if the Yellow Sumbarine (not submarine) was a cheap replica from China. I tried hard to not be offended, ha ha

Hi Clutter-Bug-

The oven door on my B doesn't open completely flat, but I can slide out the lowest rack all the way. When it is out the rack it sits about 1/2" above the door.

Mine opens flat. Sounds like you might need to loosen up the springs a bit.

Lowracer & anyone in the know...
Is loosening up the springs a big deal? I mean, I just got it in and working, and don't want to tear it down again...are the directions in the manual???

Thanks,
~~~Joslyn
It's on page 5 of the B & BZ service manual.
It looks like you'll need to remove the oven side panel. According to the diagram on page 12.
Hubby usually does the tech stuff on Big Bertha.
I have learned when I have a problem this board is a great resource. Most importantly, I pencil in any hints or tricks from this board in the service manual. I tend to forget easily!! I can remove my oven knob and calibrate like a pro!! Lowracer taught me a trick with the temp knob
hey lowracer, who's goin win Friday !!
