Can a defibrillator stop a healthy heart?
Imagine if you can a busy resuscitation room in a nameless Emergency Department.
The staff are working tirelessly in an, eventually fruitless, attempt to save the life of the patient in front of them.
The cardiac rhythm is Ventricular Fibrillation (VF), one of the two 'shockable' rhythms of cardiac arrest. The paddles of the defibrillator are seized by one of the two Doctors at the bedside, he places the paddles on the chest of the patient, he presses the button to charge the paddles, he 'shocks' the patient.

The AED machine https://www.mindray.com/en/aed.html is the main tool of rescuers, so I ordered a couple for myself, without them my work was not effective, I could not quickly save people, but now everything has changed, thanks for such a wonderful opportunity

Re: Can a defibrillator stop a healthy heart?
Hey, I've been hearing quite a bit about cardiac robotic surgery lately, and it has me intrigued. Can anyone shed some light on whether this is already a reality or if it's something we can expect in the near future? The idea of robots assisting in cardiac surgeries sounds both fascinating and groundbreaking. I'm curious to know if any of you have insights or information on the current state of cardiac robotic surgery, and if it's being implemented in medical practices.

Re: Can a defibrillator stop a healthy heart?
A defibrillator is designed to restore a normal heart rhythm during life-threatening arrhythmias like ventricular fibrillation or tachycardia. It works by delivering a controlled electrical shock to the heart. However, in healthy individuals with a regular heartbeat, a defibrillator could disrupt the heart's normal rhythm, potentially causing harm. Thus, it's crucial that only trained professionals use defibrillators in emergencies.
