We dig the sarsparilla root (did I spell that right)..up here in NC..my neighbor always makes a batch of tea in the fall..and you actually get a little sleepy or something after you drink it...and it is mellow and very good...makes you warm all over..sort of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I dont know what drinking it fresh from the root is like but the soft drink is bloody awful!
