The best thing about living in Canada, along with the almost unlimited freedom of speech, is the fact that you won't go jail for years,just for smoking a joint of pot. I have been caught with pot a couple of times over the years. The cops have always let me keep it. Even the time I accidentally blew a puff in a constable's face. I guess I should have looked before I exhaled. Imagine me getting caught with weed in the United States. Or maybe in some overly fanatical middle eastern country.
