    Essentials through Innistrad

I took the Essentials apart, and added all of the cards back to M Besieged that were never added. I pulled out a lot of cards that I really like and added a shitpot of great cards. This is a suggestion of course. Here are my changes:

    Out:

    Sunblast Angel
    Oblation
    Exalted Angel
    Wall of Blossoms
    Sylvan Scrying
    Raking Canopy
    Chameleon Colossus
    Fire/Ice
    Sol'kanar the Swamp King
    Mystic Enforcer 10
    Oros, the Avenger
    Meglonoth
    Anathemancer
    Brion Strongarm
    Fight to the Death
    Willbender
    Rite of Replication
    Suffer the Past
    Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief
    Zoetic Cavern 20
    Sword of Fire and Ice
    Behemoth Sledge

I know, that's a crap ton of great cards. But, it allows me to add:

    Past in Flames
    Gavony Township
    Rune-Carved Demon
    Jace, Memory Adept
    Garruk, Primal Hunter
    Sphinx of Uthuun
    Tariel, Reckoner of Souls
    Edric, Spymaster of Trest
    Beast Within
    Karn Liberated 10
    Batterskull
    Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
    Sheoldred, Whispering One
    Urabrask, the Hidden
    Etched Monstrosity
    Phyrexian Rebirth
    Consecrated Sphinx
    Black Sun;s Zenith
    Praetor's Counsel
    Blightsteel Colossus 20
    Bonehoard
    Birthing Pod

22 out, 22 in. I think we'd all agree that the second list is much better than the first. Sometimes swaps were easy - Fight to the Death out, Black Sun's Zenith in. Beast Within in, Oblation out. Other times they just weren't swaps. I pulled Sol'kanar for Etched Monstrosity - both are 5/5s for 5 mana, but that's where the comparison ends.

If needed, I can posts reasons why I pulled something or put something in.

Here are the cards that juuuuust missed the cut:

    Chaos Warp
    Massacre Wurm
    Thrun
    Darksteel Plate
    Hoard-Smelter Dragon
    Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur
    Garruk Relentless
    Army of the Damned
    Creeping Renaissance
    Kessig Wolf Run
    Stensia Bloodhall
    Animar, Soul of Elements
    Ghave, Guru of Spores

If you can find space for some of these great cards, then I'd be happy, but I felt i pushed it with the recent 22 in and 22 out.

I really wanted to pull Birds of Paradise, but I don't want to get shot. Originally, BoP was out and the Sword of Fire and Ice was still in, but I thought you wouldn't buy that.

I fully agree with BoP being pulled. Theres better one drops, and enough mana fixing in the essentials that BoP isn't necessary anymore.

    Re: Essentials through Innistrad

I was going to chime in with agreement of the BoP as well. I just hadn't yet as I wanted to fully review the other changes first. Anyway, the manabase is solid enough that BoP isn't all that necessary. Most of the time it's just the one drop for Hibernation's End.

I'll have comments later on the rest of it. I actually have to look a lot of the cards up

Okay, that sure did add a lot of oomph to the deck. There's a lot of cards leaving that I feel like I barely got to play. But, that's because I only had the last changes for a couple months worth of games. Not much magic to be had. But, regardless....

All these cards look great. I did go ahead and swap birds out to leave the sword in. Looks like we're down to 2 morph cards in here. It's getting even more predictable.

I feel like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur would be amazing, but he's way too far on the douchery side of cards.

I think Scavenging Ooze should be considered. It is very dependent on green mana, but it's so damn good.
