Independent Film Channel, ?The IFC Media Project,? program "cable news networks seldom speak about their infatuation with stories of white women gone missing..."

"...The first segment profiles Larry Garrison, a consultant who helps families of missing children deal with the news media. At the time of the filming Mr. Garrison was a spokesman for the family of Caylee Anthony, the Florida toddler who was reported missing last July.

?People love to hear stories about tragedies,? Mr. Garrison tells the producers, sitting in his office, a framed copy of a People magazine cover saying ?What Happened to Caylee?? on the wall. ?It?s like eating a potato chip; you just can?t stop.?

Cable channels presented almost 900 reports about Caylee in the first 12 weeks after she disappeared. ?During that time, approximately 100,000 other children were reported missing,? the program observes. (Last week The Orlando Sentinel reported that Mr. Garrison had collected payments from news organizations. He denies profiting from the Anthonys, although he is no longer working with them.) ..."

"Latest developments in the Casey Anthony saga:
*At noon, WFTV-Channel 9's Kathi Belich reported that Jose Baez, Anthony's lawyer, is on the prosecution's witness list. WFTV anchor Barbara West previewed the news as "a big development." Expect more details at 5 tonight -- WFTV had reached neither side."
But the station's legal analyst said it's "very rare" for an attorney to stay on a case if called as a witness. Also on the state's witness list are Anthony's grandmother, former boyfriends and former friends, Belich said. Prosecutors are seeking transcripts from three Nancy Grace episodes, Belich added.

Oops. There's a slight problem with the state's witness list filed Monday in the Casey Anthony case.

The defendant's attorney, Jose Baez, is named among the 83 potential state witnesses. That would make defending her mighty difficult.

It was done in error, said State Attorney's Office spokeswoman Danielle Tavernier. An amended list will be filed later today.

Others included on the list are law-enforcement officials and Anthony's family and friends.

UPDATE: Casey's Own Attorney Could Testify Against Her

Eyewitness News legal analyst William Sheaffer said any conversations Baez had with Anthony family members or even with Casey, if there was a third party present who was not part of the defense team, would not be privileged and he could be called to testify about those specific conversations.

Baez spokesman Todd Black said Friday it isn't the same woman.

"The Zenaida Gonzalez that Ms. Anthony was referring to drove a different car; she had a different name and she had less [six] children than the plaintiff has," the counter claim says. "In Orange County, Florida, alone, there are more than 20 listings for a Zenaida Gonzalez, and the plaintiff cannot prove that she has been defamed."

WKMG-Channel 6 presented Cindy Anthony and John Morgan disparaging each other.

On the 5 p.m. news, Belich confronted Dennis Milstead, head of Kid Finders Network, which has been helping the Anthony family look for missing toddler Caylee. But Belich wanted to know about Milstead's criminal past.

When she started pressing, he turned wild-eyed, grabbed her microphone and pushed the WFTV camera. Belich noted that his group has never found any children. After Belich talked to Milstead, she reported that he packed up and left. Rarely do reporters get such quick results.
