What are my options for increasing boost on the SOHC kits?

I know Jackson has a crank pulley that ups the boost to ~ 8psi. Anything else?

3.4" blower pulley makes about 8-9 psi... although the larger crank pulley is a better choice to minimize belt slippage.

won't you have less parasitic drag from the smaller blower pulley as opposed to a larger crank?

I'm trying to get ahold of a lightweight CRV race crank to up the boost on my setup.
but I've been told they're unbalanced and can eff up ur motor.. (thinking about having it balanced at a machine shop or something).

should be interesting, as they only weigh like 1 pound!

i read in the archives about the ultralightweight one that is like the crv copy (made a tab bit smaller) made 1 pound less boost, but i cant afford the price tag, so i just got me a crv crank pully from ebay for 5 dollars

I've checked the Jackson Racing site and they only list the Boost Upgrade for 88-91 Civc/CRX.

if you only want 8psi boost,
    definetely get the 3.4" pulley.

its the safest way to up the boost on your charger.

basically, using any crank other than the stock one,
will not do it's job as a harmonic dampener as well.
Even if you used a stock one of another car, I dont think that'll work as well as the one built for your car.
And aftermarket ones wont really do anything at all.
This has a chance of adding wear and tear to your bearings/rods/crank journals and such.
Also it'll overdrive ur alt alittle.

changing the SC pulley won't negatively affect anything on your car, it'll just speed up ur blower. Only downside is that you can't go smaller than 3.4" otherwise belt slippage becomes a problem.

Personally I want 9-10psi.. so I don't think the blower pulley is for me.. but I might just settle for the 8 psi to retain the great reliabilty that the jrsc comes with.

Either that or just say fuck it, and get an unorthodox racing 1lb crank pulley, hehe.
