Does anyone know how to do a compression test on a GSR? I checked the helm manual and it didnt say much. If anyone can walk me through in this message thread it would be great. Thanks in advance

1. Go drive the car hard to charge up the battery and to get it warmed up.
2. Unplug that big plug at the distributor and take the plug wires off of the plugs.
3. Take out one of the sparkplugs and screw in the compression tester.
4. Now, go into the car and crank the engine over about 5 or more times WITH THE GAS PEDAL FLOORED.
5. Go out and read the compression gauge.
6. Take out the compression tester hose, put the sparkplug back in and move to the next cylinder.
6. Repeat steps 3 thru 6.
Some people take out all of the sparkplugs at once and then do the compression test. Whenever I check my compression, I do it once without the plugs and once with the plugs in their holes.

The big plug is on the side of the distributor where it plugs into the wiring harness. If you unplug it, there's no chance of spark causing a fire.

Here is how most people do a compression test.
1. Pull spark plug wires off.
2. Remove all the spark plugs from the motor.
3. Screw in compression tester in to #1 cylinder.
4. Have someone in the car gas pedal to the floor (Wide open Throttle).
5. Crank the motor over for 5 seconds.
6. Repeat steps with each cylinder.

Folks, you should really take out the main fuel injection fuse. Otherwise a lot of raw fuel gets dumped in the motor. It's not safe and it's bad for the oil.

Re: Compression Test
A compression test evaluates engine performance by measuring cylinder pressure during cranking or running. It assesses engine health, diagnosing issues like worn piston rings or valves, or head gasket leaks. The test involves removing spark plugs, attaching a pressure gauge to each cylinder, and cranking the engine. Results indicate if cylinders maintain proper pressure. Compression tests are vital for maintaining engine efficiency and preventing costly repairs. In medical contexts, wegovy injection is a medication used for weight management, offering a parallel in maintaining the health and efficiency of an engine through regular checks, akin to administering proper care to one's body.
