I know there are a lot of intake questions on Honda message boards, but I would like to hear your opinions on this one.
I've deceided to buy a short ram intake for my DX and to make the cold air part myself.
Here's what I'm thinking:
I install the short ram, I install a small aluminium plate next to the filter so that it's kinda seperated from the hot engine parts, put a hole in the plate, attach a alu hose to it and attach the other end of the hose to the front bumper. This way, the filter will be getting outside air, without the change of sucking water into the engine. You guys think this will work?
I know I could just buy a CAI but I don't have the money and don't want to take the risk of sucking water in my engine (since its raining about 30% of the time here)
And yeah it's only a 1.5 sohc, it wouldn't be fast whatever you do, but hey, at least I can try to make it run smoother/better!
let me know what you think.
thanks.

Hey Bracer I know that will work. My father has a similiar setup on his Civic. Almost identical to the way you explained it! go for it!
