well...last night I put my JDM SiR cluster in...a piece of cake! aside from being a bit time consuming soldering about 5 wires to lengthen them....and removing the speedo cable...it was easy!!!!!!!!! anyone want some install help just ask.

    and it looks great!

hey vince, i'm thinking about doing the swap myself..my only concern is this: since it reads in KMH, won't it also be set to record mileage in the same? is there any way to put in the USDM mileage counter so that my mileage will be accurate? or am i asking too much of it all? lol

    Question

well...I was thinking the same thing, however I don't really care how it reads....but what I THINK is that the miles tic off based on the tranny. So if you have a JDM trans, your going to get km readings...I THINK! smile I assume it's either in the VSS or the trans as to what actually sends the reading. so changing the counter wont' make a difference.

I'm going to set my counter to what my miles where...and then watch them slowly tic off smile instead of setting it to the 'converted' mileage, heck, that thing would be over 145k km! smile I've got 93k miles on it now smile

so you can reset the mileage back to match what the car 'really' is? right now i have 119K....could i reset the cluster to the appropriate KMH? i thought i would just have to live with whatever mileage came on the cluster when i bought it. if that's NOT the case, then i'll go ahead and get one when i get the swap smile i'll just have to remind myself that the mileage looks so high cuz it's in KMH :P

right on..good to hear you got in in w/ no problems. i'm not brave enough to run my mileage back..i'm just going to keep track of everything. question though..did you do the gas low gauge or the driver and passenger door open lights? they would be neat to hook up.

I'll eventually work the doors in, and have NO intention of doing the gas low light smile
