Hey everybody. Just had a question, I can't decide whether to paint my car or not. I've already spent alot of money on the car and I dont' want to sink more in it than it's worth. Ok so here's the rundown, I can get my dad's friend who he built a tranny for to paint it(works at cadillac/bmw dealership)this would probably be over $500. I can paint it, definitly not even going to try that one, I'm not good with paint. Or as someone suggested earlier I can get the paint color matched and just paint the bumpers. And finally I guess I could just leave it alone. I dont' konw if you have to do some kind of special prep work to the bumpers though? Anyone? Well here's a pic, I know yall have probably already seen this too many times but I've got the winter wheels on now and no more pics.

Well ive spent the last like couple of months practising on painting plastics etc for my interior. Ive redone my center console about 4 times now because the paints wernt just right
But now I got the hang of it. What I did suggest earlier was to get paint match in a can at some hardware/paint store. Also for the bumber and side protection rubber panels you may want to get a non-metallic primer so the paint settles evenly. Cover the rest of the car do 2 layers of plastic primer 5 mintues apart. Then do 7 coats of paint match 5 mins apart then besure to add 2 layers of clear coat. The work seems tedious and it kind of can be but the result is well worth it when it looks fine and that extra couple hundred bucks is sitting in your pocket for the next project.
