I am thinking next summer I want to either do a B20 swap or go with a turbo setup on my stock LS motor. After driving KC's teg, I was really impressed and his car makes me want a B20. But then I drove Eric's Turbo ZC and it makes me want Turbo. My car has 115k miles on it and having a low mileage B20 motor would be a benefit. But then again, running 6psi of boost on the LS would be fun. Any suggestions?

Hey man, either way it is a good idea to go faster. Depends on your budget really. U have to ask yourself how much would I pay on either item...turbo/B20 swap? What other part do I need to finish it? Would it be reliable? Do I have another car to drive while the Teg is being work on? And last, how much would it cost to install. I have a checklist either way, just give me a call and we can talk then.

I was thinking about costs...
B20
$1000 motor OBD-2
$400 ACT clutch
Could I use the LS Tranny?
$300 miscellanous parts (starter, etc)
I'm pretty sure I'm missing some things..
Labor
Turbo
$1800 includes everything.. T3/T4 Hybrid, FMIC
$100 gauges, gauge pod
$350 Apex'i SAFC
$400 ACT clutch

I will do a tune-up on either setup and also new timing belt and accesory belts. U can use the LS tranny but I will look at how good your axles are and also axles seals need to be change too. If u go with Turbo setup , u will need new exhaust system also.....like thermal 3" exhaust or custom ones. If B20 setup, u need new intake and exhaust gasket. A new thermostat and gasket would be nice too, if u haven't done it yet. U don't need a starter unless the one on your car is shot. I will work with either setup. I think that's about it....

I don't think I can find a Turbo kit for $1800 for a B series but I priced together individual parts and came up with $1800-$2000 for a "build your own turbo kit" setup. I would need lots of other stuff first like you said.. Timing belt, water-pump, etc.. I would like to do this next summer. I hope I will have enough money by then. I recently sold two sets of rims so there's a start.

If you go with a B20, your "old" motor would look pretty good in my crx
i wonder if they make mounts for that

Yes they do make a mount kit for the LS into a 84-87 CRX/Civic....HASPORT makes it I think. Anyway, $1800 Sounds good for the turbo kit. What kind of parts doens't it consist of? Any brand names stuff? Does it included Injectors? And/or Fuel pressure adjustability?

There is a lot of parts missing for $1800. You would still need intercooler piping, blow off valve, vacuum lines, injectors, fuel pump and management, oil lines, fittings, clamps, silicone hoses, and exhaust downpipe. A good turbo kit will be atleast $2500.

Hmmm......Then I would save more $$$ and buy a kit instead of pieces together something like that. Drag kit, F-max?, Greddy, HKS. What else is out there? Too bad I sold my 440cc RCs. U could have bought them off from me for cheap.
