My Mom was wondering what the mileage recommendation is for changing the Timing Belt. She was also wondering if the Timing Belt in the Non-Interferance type. Any answers for these (sadly, I don't know the answers).

its something like 80k or 90k. When you change the timing belt, dont forget to change the waterpump as well. Those usually come in a package deal for preventative maintainence.

Interference or non-interference belt? How about interference or non-interference engine as in: Does the valves hit the pistons if the timing is off? The DOHC engines are definitely interference types but the SOHC engines are less certain. I've seen one guy swear up and down that all Honda engines are interference types but I could have sworn that the lower compression SOHCs don't have the valve travel that would hit a piston at TDC.

D blocks are intererence type too people, so yes you can trash the engine/block if the belt breaks. You might be luckly if it was just at idle if it went though.
