OMG 4chan in danger! We must donate!!!

But i am Brit, and 4chan hate my credit card. But i have idea! Those who want to donate should send money to one of our American, credit card holding Granaboardians via paypal or something. Then they can donate it all in one shot.

    Fraud for the WIN!

Its ironic that 4chan is facing a similar crisis to what the granaboard experienced just last week. Of course, the death is certainly not at the lack of activity, so im thinking they should be able to scramble that money up pretty quick.

Ive read Moot's notice, and i think if 4chan were to die, the 4chaners would have the motivation to donate that money to bring it back as soon as possible. Its no big deal, the only thing they have to lose is the record stretch of up-time.

They did the same before, but since I'm in Hungary, I couldn't donate. =P Nor I can use Paypal cause it does NOT support our little country. So yeah, that1s all about it.

If I went there and if I had a credit card I'd be happy to help.

It can have a heart attack and die for all I care.

4chan hurts the internet with all of the terrible people it creates with /b/. Some funny stuff does come from there but overall, I could do without it.

IRT Kles: It may make some harsh people, but it is simply the true face of the internet. It's one of the few places that only the mods can identify your posts. The whole internet would be like that if we didn't have to register and make identities for ourselves.

It's an interesting sub-culture of the internet where people are priding themselves on how witty they can be, and failing often. It's also a good place to ask for advice, as the number of users is great, thus there is a good chance you'll get a different perspective from that of someone you'd meet in person (between all NO Us and IF THIS IS TRUE THEN HERE IS WHAT YOU DOs.)

IRT Kles: You're being very unfair with 4chan. Here are some facts:

    1. 4chan is a non-government organization (doesn't this sound so good to some?) funded by altruistic people (Moot, Snacks, Man of Wax, etc) who wants to offer the international community a service few others ever did, and introduced a whole family of technologies from Japanese-only message boards. It runs on several privately owned, dedicated servers hiring a 60 Mbps service out of these people's pockets. This means many thousands of dollars a year.

    2. 4chan offers the possibility of being Anonymous. This is unsuitable for some communities like ours, but it's in fact better for some others, like large boards. Why is that? Because it reduces trolling, makes ad hominems impossible (at most you'll have ad posts or ad Anonymous), makes for a more sincere community where people will always speak their mind (it's not a problem if your opinion hurts a friend, because you're Anonymous, therefore creating a new identity in every post), and dramatically increases ease of post and members posting (think a smart specialist of a given matter who passes by and has a really useful comment to post: if he/she had to register, he/she wouldn't have the time to post it), among other advantages.

    3. /b/ is an unique place in the Net that allows you to do absolutely anything that's legal and doesn't piss Moot or Snacks off. There are something utterly disgusting, monstrous things being posted, and I would like to see the ones who post some of these dead so I can piss on their corpses, but that's about 1% of /b/. Most of the time you're having fun, and the people who post there is usually witty when they're not busy failing. /b is useful to have fun, be painfully sincere, troll, be an ass, or normally, all of these at the same time. It doesn't "make" anybody. It only lets the Anonymous you have inside show itself. It's left-handeds' oh-so-valuable "freedom of expression". Theory now (not a fact): by being an ass in /b/, you may cover your "asshole instinct" and may be a better person elsewhere.

    4. The other boards are very valuable. You can get and put free, quality, classfied hentai of any preference, beautiful photos, amazing "arts", wallpapers, etc. World4ch is one of the very few anon message boards and the people who post there, as well as /g/, is smart and will help you when they're not busy making VIP quality posts. I've found at least three extremely valuable, helpful posts there, one of which has the potential to make the Granaboard much better (stay tuned, I haven't announced anything yet).

Therefore, I think 4chan deserves some help.

IRT OCB: Will 4chan take PayPal donations from Europe? PayPal is supposed to work with my credit cards so I could try again.

The thing is, we need a credit card in either the US or Canada. And i doubt this paypal thing will work, as obviously we have to provide an address when appling.
