Hmm, if that is the case, there must have been some microscopic female genitals included with the screen depictions of Granas that I didn't see. I guess people with similar parts must have noticed as much, thus their explanation of the matter.

    Quoting Smelly Cat:
    <BLOCKQUOTE><font size=2 face="Verdana,Tahoma">quote:</font><table border="0" width="90%" bgcolor="#333333" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0"><tr><td width="100%"><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" bgcolor="#FF9900"><tr><td width="100%" bgcolor="#E0E0E0"><font size=2 face="Verdana,Tahoma">I don't want to be too serious now, but
believing in something is more than knowing it exists.
In Grandia 2 the followers of Valmar knew Granas existed, but did not believe in her.</font></td></tr></table></td></tr></table></BLOCKQUOTE>

Believing is less than knowing, unless by "believe" you mean "trust". The People of Darkness did not need to believe in Granas, they knew she existed (main difference between Grandia gods and Earth gods, in Grandia you at least know they exist). The People of Darkness did not, however, follow Granas nor trust or like her.

IRT Grandas: I don't go looking at gods' omnipotent private parts... it's information from an official guide. (In that case, Valmar would have then a demonic prick somewhere, which I don't recall seeing - fortunately!).

    IRT: Wiseman
With believing I indeed mean something like trust. I'm not sure if trust is the right word for it, but you get the general idea.
I put it in italics, but I guess I was not explicit enough.

Therefore I say that believing is more than knowing it exists.
Just like your example of the People of Darkness demonstrates.

Ah, if only there was a god to thank for my implementation of the letter d in my user name. We sometimes take for granted what we do not know.

Additionally, could you explain to me what the acronym IRT means.

IRT = In reply to or In Response to. Thus we don't lag up the board by using "quotes". So if I want to Reply to you, its easier just to say,

    IRT Grandas:

    IRT means In reply to.

I have had another change of mind on the subject. I am emphatic when I state that Granas is not a female. He is, on a consistent basis, referred to as "Lord Granas" in the game and in the dialogue; there are dozens of citings in the gameplay, one, of which, I have bothered to find.

... Elena: I don't really know very much myself, but.. they say long ago the people lived happily, bathed in the light of Lord Granas. Then Valmar came and tried to take the light from the people. And so began the Battle of Good and Evil. At the Battle's end, Lord Granas' sword which he raised to cut down Valmar went right through Valmar into the earth, creating a huge fissure across the land..

And that is how the Grancliffs came to be.

?But it cannot be helped. If Lord Granas had not defeated Valmar, just think what would come of the world..

Ryudo: You'd think that if Granas had a sword big enough to carve out he continent, he'd be a bit more careful about where he'd drop it.

Elena: It cannot be helped! Just think what the world would be like without Lord Granas!

Ryudo: Granas has painful shortage of slack.
