Seriously though, this used to be something that computer programmers did that was totally geeky and so it was good. Then of course some kids got hold of it and made it "cool" (finger-gestured air-quotes) and now I see this crap everywhere. [img]tongue.gif[/img] [sigh]

PS - I used to do this regularly myself. Back in college, my professors used to complain that the code in the computer programs we were writing needed more commentary so that they knew what the heck was supposed to be going on. Apparently old age dulls the mind for deciphering the arcane runes we like to call code. We always included comments for anything particularly confusing, but we weren't in the habit of doing so for every inane thing. Anyway, just to piss them off, we used to use this for the commentary in the code we submitted. Ah good times, college. When I couldn't stop playing EQ all night long every night - ate nothing but pizza, ramen, and coca-cola - and lastly, didn't have a life. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Ok, ok. Just checked out the "translator". Just one question, do they have on that works in reverse (ie takes this crap and translates it into plain english), and did they make it as a plugin to EQ so I don't have to look at this ever again?

Seriously again, it cracks me up how it inserts OMG WTF after every exclamation mark you enter. So fitting really. They ought to include a new language in nEver-rest called munchkin. It would basically allow these kids to talk like that and if our language skills are good, we would see it deciphered into our plain old common. Just my 2cp. [img]wink.gif[/img]

I don't think I've ever seen a translator where you type in crap and then it changes it to English...mebbe because there are like 800 bazillion different kinds of l337? ..well.. maybe I'm a bit off.. o_O

...however... on another forum I did see one that translated binary (die spelling!) to English.. and English to binary..I think.. *ponders finding a link*
