My Sig (Actually a sig guide)

Like my sig? Isn't it flashy? I think so too. But thats not the reason I'm posting this. Im posting this to explain to people who don't understand why my sig picture leads to my magelo profile. Or better yet can't figure out how to do it on their own.

Anyone with some basic knowledge of html coding understands how this works but it seems Im alone with El and maybe Gin in that area.

Anyways if you have a flashy sig pic or just want to make you name clickable to link to you magelo profile Ill tell you how really quickly.

<u>Clickable Name</u>
To make your name clickable insert the following code
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size=2 face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">code:</font><table border="0" width="90%" bgcolor="#333333" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0"><tr><td width="100%"><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" bgcolor="#FF9900"><tr><td width="100%" bgcolor="#333366"><pre> <a href="http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=#######" target="_blank">Name Here</a> </pre></td></tr></table></td></tr></table></BLOCKQUOTE>

Obviously replace the #'s with your magelo number and the Name Here with your name here. This produces:

<u>Clickable Image</u>
Slightly more complicated but not really. First you need a sig image hosted somewhere, I recommend Photobucket but if you have your own site you can do this to. (Kinda like me but also not the point here)

Now once you have a hosted image get its url, say http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/****/Name/Signame.*

Take this url and return to your signature field in your profile. Delete your name and in the spot put the following:

To create a signature field that looks like:

This result in what you see below for my sig and since I was nice and walked Del through this, her sig as well.

Congratz on your new flashy, and yes I do just want another topic to stare at my sig picture. I like it for some reason.

having problem with name clicky i put it in my signature but it just says my name and its not clickable

Yah I see the error, hostboard markup language doesn't survive the code fields. Joy...

Ok then to fix the problems with the coded stuff above do the following:
Replace all < or > with [ or ]
Replace a href with URL
Replace /a with /URL
Delete the target="_blank"

Should look like:
[ URL = http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=###### ] My Name [ /URL ]
Only without the spaces.

Now gimme a few mins to figure out whats up with the image one lol. Fucking Hostboard can't do shit.

Ok repairing the second part now, the image sig.

As I said remove the name here and replace it instead with the following:
[ IMG ]http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/****/Name/Signame.*[ /IMG ]
Remove the spaces between the letters inside the [ ]

This should make something that looks like:
[ URL=http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=####### ][ IMG ]http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/****/Name/Signame.*[ /IMG ][ /URL ]
Again no spaces between the [ and ] to make the code functions actually work. Now excuse me while I go curse about stupid forum software that needs a kick in the head.

After trying several times with the normal html codes, re-reading posts, smacking myself on my forehead, and trying one last time..I got mine working too. Yay. *slaps hostboard!*

Np Kaye and Solin, I posted it and it looked alot better, then Hostboard slaughtered it so being the lazy dork I am I won't change the original post, much. Anyways hopefully this clears up the ugly arse sigs I see around here.
