I can suggest a few that will hurt your brain.
Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (11 or 12 books long and still going)
Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind (9, 10, 11? I have no idea where it is now, another is out shortly)
Symphony of the Ages series by Elizabeth Haydon (Omg there are like 6, first three are best)
Second Sons series by Jennifer Fallon(3 Books)
Hythrun Chonicles also by Jennifer Fallon (4 Books and rising it seems)
And thats just about every series I've read/Am reading atm. Kinda hard rereading 10 book series when you have been out of the loop for 2 years but makes it take less time for the next book to come out. Yes Im insane I reread this shit every few years.
Note: I have no idea what sorta age level you were looking for, some of these may be a little more graphic than a 10 year old would like to read but its all fantasy stuff at heart. Unlike a certain other series I read for some reason that was a romance series pretending to be fantasy, but lets not get in to that.

I'll suggest DragonLance series. *Covers Gnomency's book series and runs away* Mwahahaha! But really, I loved the 2 books I've read from it so far...The characters are interesting individuals and it's well written and umm..ya!

Some other suggestions, ANYTHING by Andre Norton, Anne McCaffrey, or Mercedes Lackey, three of the best authors in the genre, also Holly Lisle is pretty good, if you do not like any of their work (heh, like that is possible.... not !) let me know and I will go though my collection and give you some more suggestions, ( at last count, I had about 1500 paperbacks and a couple hundred hardcovers LOL )
