You may not control another person's character or their possessions. They cannot control you or yours. They can't cut off your arms or destroy your house.

Sometimes it's subtle, like "Everyone in the room followed Martin with their eyes" - It is up to you whether your eyes followed - not up to me.

Fighting with those rules goes like:

Martin: "Martin swung his sword at Seth"

Seth: "Seth dodged and fired his Glock at Martin"

Martin: "The bullet hit Martin in the arm"

===== 2 ==

"Zero-Sum" - For every strength there is a weakness, and if the power is used frequently then the weakness should be too.

Infinity\negative infinity are not allowed - No attack is unblockable, no code unbreakable, no pick-up line irresistable.

So when someone attempts to do something to you, you always have the freedom to decide how you are effected.

===== 3 ==

Thread posession works like this:
First comes the guy who started the thread. Second comes the moderators. Next comes other participants in the thread.

Don't join a thread and try to change it's direction. Join in a way that lets the thread starter get rid of you if you misread the situation. It's usually obvious which threads are "Anything goes". Pulling out a lightsabre and attacking someone in the alley is more acceptable than it would be at the bus stops.

Thread creators can set their own rules and break them to make the thread go how they want.

Continuity:

Events in one thread are independant of events in all other threads, except where they aren't.

Examples:
1. Despite dying in the Alley, Mr. mcDoNothing is free to die in a different way in another thread.
2. Now that Chris has Nora's home phone number, he can start a different thread to call her and still retain his relationship.

It's not that complicated.

Language:
According to one member this is the number one issue in Incident.

People are more likely to read your post if they can understand it, so I suggest double-checking what you write to make sure it's easy to follow and also including plenty of paragraphs (it's easy - just press [Enter] twice after every 3rd full stop, instead of [Space]).

I personally don't care about swearing (we're all adults here), but please only use it if it's neccessary.

Actually, he can't. Same reason you can't delete yours. The power's been removed to stop rouge people deleting entire threads. For example, if Chris got angry he could delete the entire OOC thread.

The abilty to delete your own threads could be re-enabled if everyone approves.
