Ben Broussard is turning out to be the poster boy for Platooning.

First in 2004 he was terrific in the platoon role, in 2005 when not platooning, he was average at best, now in 2006 he's terrific again in the platoon role.

I have a theory that when a ballplayer who was platooning and doing a good job goes full time the danger is not just when batting against the pitchers they would normally sit for, but the danger comes in having to adapt BACK to their strength.

So when a player is taken out of a platoon role they must not only face pitchers they used to be platooned against, but as they try to adjust to these pitchers, they may lose their edge against pitchers they normally do well against.

Ben is currently hitting over .400 and I will be surprised if he doesn't end the season hitting at least .315-320 as a platoon player.
