Yep, Casey has found a home in the number 9 spot. I've never seen a hitter go 1-2 as often as Casey does however.
When it happens that often, it's time to consider first pitch swinging to keep the pitchers honest. Although if the first pitch is fouled off, then the 1-2 count almost becomes inevitable.
Casey now has 20 homers on the season, and 25 homers is now looking possible. Now if Casey could just raise his OBP a bit...

I dare say if Casey does not get those two walks the whole game dynamic changes and maybe Ben doesn't get the same opportunity to hit those two homers that Ben hit.
Can't agree about Casey. He's having an awful season. I don't know if there's an alternative, though. Dubois was not any better. Liefer was only a stopgap, although I'd like to see him get a chance somewhere. But generally, Blake ***** . I was surprised he got a hit with runners on base last night because he'd been 3 for 56 with RSIP....not very good. Not good at all.
Two years later and some things never change.
