I'd still like to see if Choo, with his speed and arm strength might reduce some of the doubles that Toronto and Baltimore got to singles.

It wasn't that long ago that Choo threw out a runner at home when the bases were loaded with no outs in the first inning and that play changed the entire complexion of the game. Not only were there suddenly two outs and no runs in, the very next day a hitter literally fell on his face from stopping so quickly after rounding first because it was Choo who was rifling the throw back to second base.

If Choo has the best arm on the team, platoon him with Nixon in right field and also occasionally put him in left or right late in a game when it's warranted for defensive purposes. Choo is also an excellent baserunner so he could even be a pinch runner late in a game for Trot Nixon. Bottom line is Choo will get 300-350 at bats, plenty of time to see if he is for real, and we get a late inning defensive replacement who won't necessarily be an offensive downgrade either since he runs as quickly as Barfield.

All that is needed for the above to happen is for Blake to become the regular third baseman for this year, and for Marte to remain in the minors.

This also would free up Garko to be the regular first baseman for the rest of the season. Other than Dellucci's fine play against the outfield left field foul stands, I've seen at least 3 or 4 doubles in the past four games that someone with Choo's arm might have either actually cut the runner dpwm at second, and in turn may have reduced future similar kind of hits from a double to a single.

It behooves Wedge to find out just how golden Choo's arm is as it can come really handy in the later innings of a close game.
