Home field advantage is kicking in as the Indians played a solid methodical game against Boston in game three. Reliable defense plus key Cleveland hits fed last nights win. A two run homer by Kenny Lofton and Asdrubal Cabrera and Travis Hafner's hustle by keeping out of the double play and the Indians had their four runs.

It's been mano a mano between the big boys on both teams. In Boston's first loss of the series on Sunday, David Ortiz beat out a potential double play grounder and had an infield hit that barely avoided Fausto Carmona's glove which help give Boston the lead for the first half of that game which was eventually won by Cleveland in 13 innings.

Tonight, David Ortiz gets hit by a Manny Ramirez batted ball and is called out between second and third and Manny grounds into a double play with the bases loaded.

Meanwhile Travis Hafner, running full bore out of the box and never looking anywhere but straight down the first base line, was rewarded for his hustle by barely avoiding the double play and plating the fourth run of the night.

The replay clearly showed that Travis just put his head down and ran as hard and efficiently towards first as he could, and the result was Travis barely beat out what could have been an inning ending double play and the second run of the inning would not have scored.

Jake Westbrook did what CC and Fausto have had trouble doing this series, get the Boston Red Sox to hit the ball in play early in the count.

As I hinted to last night, the extra innings game seemed to rejuvenate Ryan Garko and Asdrubal Cabrera, who each got their second wind in that Sunday night 11 inning classic and it carried over into tonight's game.

Still thinking this series could be over in five games.
