For those who have complained about Wedge's managing I think the Twins manager made some critical mistakes last night. With first base open in the ninth and two outs, Travis Hafner should have been walked, Instead Travis hit the game tying home run.

Another huge mistake made by the Twins that I hold their manager responsible for was playing Jason Tyner so shallow in left field in the 11th. Vic floated the ball past Tyner who had taken a crazy circular path to the ball and the resulting ground rule double drove in the final Indians run of the night.

With runners on first and third and two outs there is no reason for Tyner to play shallow in left field. Since any single will score the runner from third.

In the bottom of the 11th inning, Franky G made a terrific catch against the right field wall specifically because he was playing so deep and had time to set himself and jump.

If Tyner plays slightly deeper in left field, the Indians only score one run in the 11th inning. If Franky G is not playing so deep, the Twins score the tying run in the bottom of the 11th and they might still be playing.

It's time to focus on what the other managers are doing wrong rather than the perpetual railing against Wedge that goes on on an inning by inning basis by "Cleveland fans".

Having said that, Shin Soo Choo should be on the team and used as a left field late inning defensive replacement when the winning run is on base for the opposing team. Choo's arm is strong enough to throw a runner oiut at home trying to score from second on a single.
