Rather than make a panic trade or signing, if Fryman can't go and Branyan plays 3B I don't mind them putting Garcia in LF to see what he can do as an everyday player- let's find out if his good spring was a fluke ot not.
------------------
Afterthought- I guess we'd need a RH hitter to platoon with him.

Lawton, Bradley, Garcia, Anderson, Cordero...
It appears that other than Lawton, the other four are interchangeable, but in different ways.
Perhaps Cordero is in good shape, perhaps Anderson has one more decent season in him, perhaps Garcia is ready to impersonate Marty Cordova from last year, perhaps Bradley will get on base ala Anderson, but with more speed and future upside.
Will mixing up the line-up to the point where nobody plays everyday actually hurt everyone involved?

Are you sure about Fryman being toast.
I'm not hearing any talk of a "twinge" in his arm, and he had an excellent game against Toronto today.

I'm not disputing that, just wondering where you got it. Have you seen him play?

You are all wrong, and stupid as well.
Brady will have a banner year as leadoff batter, with his health fully regained.
Ricky will continue to improve his batting average as he has the last few years, batting well over .300
Lawton will continue his high OBA.
Thome will finally break Belle's record for homers, while batting .300 with 100 walks.
Burks will stay healthy all year .
Fryman will have a breakthrough year.
Diaz will continue his clutch hitting, with 40 doubles.
Cordero will have renewed interest in his option year and be a key batter.
Vizquel will win another well-deserved Gold Glove.
It goes without saying that our 3 top starters will have fine years.
Wickman will continue as the best closer in the AL.
The Tribe will win 95 games, shocking everyone, and go to the ALCS again.

Fryman goes 4 for 5 Monday! Raises ST average from .064 to .133!
Perhaps there is some hope. But I doubt it.
You know I would truly like to be wrong about Travis. If he can play like 2000 this team will be better than advertised. I just don't think he can. I dare you to prove me wrong Travis.

Have never seen him play. From those who have we read...
From Baseball Prospectus 2002;
On Earl Snyder- "He's never impressed anyone defensively at first base., though he did manage to play a little third last year without hurting anyone."
From Minor League Scouting Notebook 2001 & 2002;
"Snyder is a pretty lousy first baseman and is best cast as a DH."
"Snyder's defense is marginal.."

Really, guys, it's a bit soon to write off Fryman- especially since he's been throwing well. I don't believe that even in his salad days he was the kind of hitter who gets off to a hot start in the spring. I don't think he'll play like 2000- if nothing else, he's 2 years older. But he won't be a black hole in the lineup, either. As for his elbow holding up, remember that Shuey has been pitching for some time with a similar partial ligament tear.
But I do think that the so-called Almighty was really Satan tempting us to believe in those 95 wins. ![wink wink](https://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif)

Travis Fryman's Final Spring Stats;
Batting Average- .113
Slugging Pct.- .177
If Fryman comtinues this abysmal hitting into the regular season, how long before we make a change? End of April? May? Does Chollie or Shapiro even have the nards to sit Fryman down?
