Anaheim signed him to a 3-year deal.
You guys who are so concerned with the offense... we need another solid starter.
He would have fit the bill.
Please note that I am now a "senior". A little respect, please.

C'mon, genius, the battler, Chuck Nagy is going to be a solid starter for the Tribe next year. I am so glad they signed him to that 24 million dollar contract a few years ago and let a young lefty, Brian Anderson, go for nothing in the expansion draft. John Hart is sooooo smart.

The Tribe should have went after 1 free agent starting pitcher this off season and that is Sele. There is a good chance that Wickman will be coming in in the 9th just to mop up another Tribe loss!

I think the tribe is stuck until they know what the health situation is with Nagy and Wright. They can't sign a starter until they know that at least Nagy is cooked, then the insurance kicks in. Until then, they have to plan on his $6M being "active".

Signing Sele would be ridiculous, we are developing our own pitchers that are home grown. Colon-Sabathia-Baez-Drese-Drew-Traber- with many other blue-chippers further down, unfortunetely we are stuck with Finley for one more year and also with Nagy and Wrights salaries.

What? You disagree with The Genius?
I'll get back to you in June when Shapiro signs Jaime Navarro (unless Hart doesnt grab him first).

I don't know about Laime but Hart continues to grasp at straws or his lightning in a bottle formula of developing starting pitching by grabbing Hideki IROB-YOO

Sele may be gone, but honestly, how could the Indians have afforded to give him $8 mil per season? Answer: they could not have! I agree that another starter would help, but we need Finley out of the rotation to make that happen. I don't want to see Baez or Drese lose their rotation spots while Finley stays in it. They are the ones who need the spots to prove themselves. Finley is obviously past his prime, and brings no benefit to the team. Replacing him with Sele would have been nice, but how can they get rid of him? All I'm saying is there is no rotation spot for a veteran w/o sacrificing the spot of a prospect. Finley needs to go, and then we can get a starter.
