I agree.
I hated to see Bart go now that he seemingly has found himself, but I remember too many games when his stupidity got in the way of his ability.
Now if somebody will take Stevens off our hands, it could be a great deal.

This could be better than the Carter trade. Phillips is a better all-around player than Baerga, Lee could be as valuable as Sandy Jr., and Sizemore could be another Bradley. I just wish he was a little older. He won't be ready until 2006.

If you accept the premise that Colon was not going to be signed after 2003, then Shapiro has made a good deal. His take in prospects from Montreal is quite impresssive considering the looming labor strife. I've been critical of Shapiro (and probably will be again) but this is a pretty good deal. Phillips, Lee, and Sizemore are all excellent prospects.
This has the potential to be Joe Carter type of deal. The average fan may not like it, but I have to give Shapiro credit for making a good deal.
Bart's constantly increasing girth and his impending free agency with $$$ salary make this a prudent deal.

Pluto, who has been blasting the trade, is now creaming his jeans over Lee:
