Why not?
There are currently 261 available Free Agents.
We all certainly have enough roster space with 18 available spots.
The quality players on the list go down to about 190.
By adding a 5th or 6th round to the draft we would take a maximum of 160 players out of the draft pool. A 6th round would make it 192.
I think it could be possible to do 6 rounds at the end of the 6th round you could at least pick up a back up player.
If people have used all their available cap space they could abstain from taking a draft pick.

1. we could but the majority would have to say okay
2. we would only do it if their were 6 rounds and not 5 because that again gives the advantage to the teams picking first.
3. even if we dont you still can try signing these guys after the draft ... some what of a bidding war
4. if we did it would take more work for GMs to actually figure out if they went over the cap which i doubt they would ... 67.5M remember

I'm all for it, it would leave more of a player balance.....a bidding war on remaining agents may give some teams a small advantage.
Lets start of with as close to a level playing field as we can and see how well we can manage rather than how high we can bid.
This is also better for players with time constraints.

im for only 4 rounds, and also how does bidding on free agents benefit one team over another? Everyone has a shot at them ...

Yeah I'd much rather keep it a 4 rounds of bidding so that there is some FA action to the league before the start of it.

i gotta say i prefer the option of 4 rounds and then some bidding. if you draft all very expensive players then you wont have room to bid... just another way for people to choose how they wanna play i guess

Actually I like Balrogs idea, but it looks like we're in the minority.
Hey Fasttracker, I recall that you floated the idea of this league having a draft lottery rather than the bottom team automatically getting the top pick. Is that still on the cards?
