    Brisbane 89 BJE 85
    Holmegaad 129 BJE 111

    Game 35
Brisbane took a close one from the Gummers in Edmond in front of a unruly home sellout by 4. A big first quarter by the visitors was washed out by BJE in the second quarter as the teams went to the break with the Gummers leading 39 to 35. The Bandits pulled away from the Gummers late in the 4th quarter. Trever Harcrow was rude to the Hustlers as he scored 39 points and had 22 rebounds. Statistically, the Gummers held their own with Brisbane, expect on the score board.

    Game 36
Holmegaad's big second half was too much for BJE as the Hustlers scored 129 points in crushng the Gummers by 18. Trever Harcrow was again a bright spot as he scored 32 points and had 20 rebounds. Jose Niebuhr did Trever two better, getting a game high 34 with 18 boards.

Coach Bements Comments: We committed only 7 turnovers and outrebounded Holmegaad but they just are a better shooting team than we are. We played good despite losing by 18. I'll take that effort anyday. Trever and Jose are really tough on their opponents. I don't think this losing thing is going to last too much longer. We will get to some teams more like us and we fully expect to take care of our business.

Notes: Home game with Great Barrier won't be easy. The Reefers have a four game winning streak and have plenty of talent.

Game 37 L home vs GREAT BARRIER 78-82
    Game 38 W away at Lundergaard 99-75
    Game 39 W home at HAYWARD 101-82
Game 40 W away at St. Paul 97-89
    Gane 41 W away at Windsor 96-85

Gummers On Four Game Winning Streak

Three road wins and a home victory over HAYWARD have pushed Blackjack into 7th place in the Conference with a 20 and 21 record. "The final two or three playoff positions in the North Conference will be close to call. Our road win at St. Paul was our best win of the season. We need win at least 30 games and the magic number might be 30 or 31 to make the playoffs in this conference," said Gummer GM Fred Pahlke. "It will come down to a game or two and every game counts. We must not lose games we should win, especially at home."

Coache Bements comments: Harcrow and Niebuhr are producing each and every night. We have lost Woolever for a week and we will try to pick up someone in his place. Saez did a good job against Windsor and we are pleased with his play.

Notes: Harcrow leads the league in various catagories. Scoring, most points, rebounding, most rebounds, free throws made, free throws attemped, shots, and baskets are all led by Harcrow. Jose Neibuhr is 8th in scoring with a 17.8ppg and is second in shots taken. JT Jager is third in assists.

    Game 42 Beaverton 104 BJE 91 away
Game 43 BJE 97 Hampton Roads 76 home

Beaverton Stops Streak at Four; Gummers Rout Roads

Beaverton used a lack of Gummer offense in a shutdown second quarter to post a 104 to 91 win. Trever Harcrow scored 36 points in the loss for BJE.

BJE rode the 17 points and 22 rebounds to bounce back from a road loss to Beaverton to beat the Killer Bees at home. Lamont Festerman made his Gummer debut with 23 points with a 3 for 5 behind the arc shooting performance. "Lamont played real good and I wouldn't put it pass us to keep him when Woolever comes off the DL. His shooting was crisp and his overall play was excellent," commented coach Bement.
The Gummers again are one game below the mason/dixon line and hope to even its record tonight at Manitoba. "Manitoba has been tough on us but we can beat them if we put it together," said the coach.

    Game 45 BJE 113 OCALA 85 home
    Game 46 BJE 94 CHICAGO 85 home

Gummers Drub CHICAGO In Easy Fashion

Don't plan on a playoff run for CHICAGO as the Windy City entry in the league was completely outmanned in a 94-85 win in Edmond. Inside play by Trever Harcrow and Jose Niebuhr was too much for the S@D as the duo combined for 39 points and 20 rebounds. The Gummers outrebounded CHICAGO 41 to 28. The win puts BJE 23 and 23 for the season.

Coach Bements Comments: CHICAGO is a highly overrated team. They have no rebounding and they don't play good interior defense. As you can tell we don't like them. As for us, we didn't play very good but still won with ease.

Notes: BJE looks to go into the plus side record wise tonight. "We better not get upset. I would be really suprised if we lose tonight," said Assistant coach Billy Tubbs.

Harcrow Leads Blackjack to Series Win

Let the St. Paul Timberpuppies wonder what happen to their team in round one and the name of Trever Harcrow must be in their thoughts. Harcrow had games of 43 and 30 in leading he underdog Gummers to a 4 to 1 series win. "We fed them Trever the whole series and they choked on him. He was the difference, as always, when we win. Our inside game with Neibuhr and Trever was outstanding," concluded coach Bement.

Notes: The 5th seed Gummers await the California/chicago winner.

Gummers Dominate League Player Awards In First Season. Three Make First Team!

Trever Harcrow will be announced as the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year at the end of the Playoff Season. Harcrow has had a dominating season, leading the league in scoring and rebounding, and was also considered the top defender in the league. The 26 year old 7'2 center out of South Alabama Univ. was Blackjacks first round draft choice. His statistics for League 40's inaugural season will set the standard for future seasons. "Harcrow is not the most athletic player, or matter of fact, the most gifted player in the league. He is just the hardest worker, the toughest player, the warrior of this league. He is the total package," said Gummer coach Lloyd Bement. With all the fanfare Harcrow has garnered this year, the Gummers have set a mark that will be hard to ever beat. They placed three players on the first team. Jose Niebuhr and Thanh (TJ) Jager both were added to the first team all league. Niebuhr has been a tremendous post player (PF) for the Gummers. The 32 year old 6'7 double double averager from Ole Miss has the inside outside game to also play the point for BJE this season. He has been a 17 points and 10 boards a game performer. The third first teamer, TJ Jager is in the top four in assists and steals. His defensive clampdown on oppposing point guards has been supreme in the league.

    Gummers First Season Successful

With a winning record, a nice playoff run, add a MVP and DPY, the BJE Gummers came up big for its first season. Trever Harcrow was a dominating player in his first season. His league scoring title (22.4ppg & 1503 points in 67 games) was complemented with a league leading 12.9 boards a game. Harcrow finished ninth in blocks per game with a 1.9bpg. With Thanh Jager and Jose Niebuhr also making first team all-galaxy, the Gummers domintated post season honors.

It was a nice beginning for Blackjack.

    Mui, Allbee Sign With Blackjack

Dorian Mui signed a $6.2 million dollar one year contract with Blackjack today to add depth to the SF positon. Mui averaged 12.5ppg and 4.8rpg last season. The 35 year old journeyman from Rider College is an outstanding defender and 3 point shooter. He has suffered multiple injuries thoughout his career and will be looked upon as spot player for added defense at the foward position. Also signed today was Lee Allbee, who will be the Gummer's 3 string center. Allbee saw limited action last season. "For what we need from a third center, Lee is just what we needed. He is a good rebounder and doesn't foul much. He will spell Trever and Boyd and will play significant minutes. He will help both the other centers progression," said Head Coach Lloyd Bement. Allbee signed for one seaons at $3.7 million. Insiders say that Allbee will the second center once the season starts as Allbee is a more developed center than Mateus. "With Trever as the man, the second center on this team will see limited action anyway," said Assistant Head Coach Billy Tubbs. Thanh Jager will play this seaons without a new contract for next year, club officials said today. Jager is ok with this arrangement it is believed.
