    Question

Gummers Go After Corbridge-Expects to Sign in Future

"We offered Genaro a zero year contract becasue we needed some back up at the post but he didn't want to sign. We will continue to work with his agent to get him with us. If he thinks he is going to sign with anyone else he is mistaken. I hope he wises up as we really can use him," said GM Fred Pahlke. BJE offered Corbridge 1000000 to sign the 0 year contract. Corbridge is at most a low end role player.

Game Forcast: St. Paul Timberpuppies (T)

ST.Paul has a large team with some four player that can hurt you. They will try to use their bench as their starting five cannot beat you alone. PG Fleischman scored 26 in their opening win but will have a more difficult time going against TJ. A winable game for the Gummers on the road. Look for BJE to dominate with their superior defense. Timberpuppies lose their first game.

St. Paul Pups Jumps All Over Gummers 101-87

St. Paul used a superior shooting display to pin Blackjack to its first loss in franchise history in the Twin Cities last night in front of a sellout crowd (26593). The Tinderpups got going early as the valuted Gummer defense took a wipping. "They just wipped us like a dog. They took out a big stick and just pounded us on the defensive end. I am very suprised that we didn't play our zones like we show in practice. They (Pups) showed us that we have a long way to go," commented Gummer head coach Lloyd Bement.
Trevor Harcrow had another double double for BJE as he garnered 31 points and 18 rebounds. Harcrow leads the league in scoring after just two games with a 29.5 average. Jose Niebuhr was a bright spot for the Gummers as he chipped in 27 points with 14 boards. Niebuhr is also in the top five in scoring in the league with a 23.5ppg. "Our inside production is nice, but we have to get our post players to shoot a better average. We missed too many easy shots," said Bement.

    Notes: Game 3 At Windsor
The Steam Rollers will miss Garrett Madariaga again tonight.
Bements thoughts on Windsor: Better than St. Paul, especially with Mad Max. Elton Lima could score fifty a game if he didn't foul so much. We will have TJ (Jager) try to take him to the hole often. If Lima plays 30 mintues it will be a long night for us. Their whole team fouls alot. We will try to push the ball.

    Mcclymonds Signs Limited Contract

Guard Carman Mcclymonds signed a zero year contract with the Gummers this morning. Mcclymonds is expected to give BJE added depth at the point guard position. "Carman is limited in what he can do on the court but we had some salary money out there and we signed him to a day to day zero year contract. We are thinking about using Carman as another live body in practice and he is happy for the money. Carman is a highly regarded person and will work with our younger guards, expecially in personal moral development," said asssitant Head Coach Billy Tubbs.

Gummers Rock the Steam Rollers 109-93

Ricardo Solano punped in 32 points and Trever Harcrow set a league record with 22 rebounds as BJE torched Windsor in Windsor. "We played with our guards being the first option tonight and with some aggressivness and that was the difference," said HC Lloyd Bement. "Jager and Solano are bigtime players and that showed," concluded the coach.

Notes: Third road game in a row with Beaverton tonight.

    Jager Hurt/Beaverton Drubs Gummers 100-93

Beaverton needed no help from BJE but got some anyway as the Blue Wave easily disposed of the Gummers last night. BJE point guard TJ Jager was injured in the loss and will be lost to the Gummers for two games. He went on the DL just after the game. The loss of Jager had no effect on the game as Beaverton had built up a nice lead before the injury and continued to pound the Gummers until the final 12 minutes when BJE cut a 25 point lead to the final margin of 7. "We completely melted down. They were much the better team tonight and thats my fault. We will regroup and get ready for Hampton," commented head coach Lloyd Bement. Ricardo Solano continued a hot streak for BJE as he scored 25 points in the loss. Trever Harcrow had another productive game with 16 points and 8 rebounds before fouling out in the final period. Vance Wolaver was the Player of the Game for BJE with 24 points to go along with 11 boards and 7 assists.

Notes: BJE goes 1-2 on the 3 game road trip. Jager will be out for two games. The Gummers had a nice night shooting from behind the arc going 6 for 10. Hampton Roads will be without their pg Augustin Derise who was averaging 8ppg.

    BJE Nips Hampton Roads 99-95

Blackjack overcame an eight point Killer Bees lead going into the final 12 minutes and beat the visitors by 4, 99-95. Jose Niebuhr tied a league record of 14 assists in his first start as a point guard while ever developoing center Trever Harcrow pumped in 27 points (11-15 from the floor) and 10 boards to lead the Gummers. Ricardo Solano had another fine outing scoring 24 points for BJE. "It was a total team effort but I was especially happy to see Thad "Thunder" Viera contribute for us. He played every minute tongiht and helped on offense (17 points) and rebounding (13 boards). He was our iron horse," said Gummer coach Lloyd Bement. Viera started in the place of Niebuhr who started in the place of injured guard TJ Jager. Jager will be out for one more game. "We shot the ball really well (38-71) and that made a big difference," Bement said. "Hampton is a good team and we were glad to get the win to keep our home record clean."

Notes: Back on the road tonight against Manitoba (4-1). Gaston Usher leads the Fighting Beavers and his matchup with Trever Harcrow will be significant. "I will learn alot tonight from Gaston" said Harcrow. "He is more experienced than me but I have a little size advantage on him. I hope to move him around some tonight. I can tell you I will not play soft," Harcrow finished. Harcrow is 2nd in the league in scoring while Usher is 5th. Harcrow leads the league in rebounding.

    Manitoba 110 BJE 81

"We were lost from the beginning, and I really don't want to discuss anything else," commented BJE coach Lloyd Bement. Press Conference over.

Blackjack's Harcrow Scores 36 In Win

Trever Harcrow put in 36 hard earned points last night as Blackjack Edmond wrangled the Ocala Mustangs 90-83 before a sellout crowd in the Gummer Stadium. Harcrow also had a game high 14 rebounds and 4 steals. The leading scorer in the league is now averaging just over 25ppg. "We won this game on defense," said assistant Head Coach Billy Tubbs. "We had 6 fewer turnovers and 6 fewer fouls. That makes a big difference when your opponent out rebounds you, which they did. Ocala is a outstanding team and it was a nice win. We are not any better than them and it's nice to hold serve and win at home. We are now 3-0 at home," Tubbs concluded.

Notes: Niebuhr had a double double with a 20p 11r game. Jager's comeback after missing two games was so so but he did have a team high 12 assists.
