Proposed: We drop our guaranteed contract rule and use the new Simgal rule.

For my part, I like our current rule better, but I'm growing increasingly frustrated at how difficult it is to get everyone on the same page and doing what they're supposed to do. The new rule does most of what I want with guaranteed contracts and eliminates the need to watch over everyone and make sure all the players end up on teams where they're supposed to.

i think it'd be much easier/simpler to just adopt the new change. it's only 1 more year and we won't have to worry about accidental releases or policing everyone. less headaches and basically the same policy. it seems like a win-win in my book.

I've suggested something which, if Scott implements it, should make tracking illegal releases so much easier: http://www.hostboard.com/cgi-bin/ult...=1930&t=2017#8

I would prefer to keep the existing rules -- every other league will move to the new ones, and the main thing I love about this league is that it's like a different game, keeping it interesting. If you can drop one-year guys, then you return to the days of signing free agents to one-year deals just in case they have good gaps, and then dropping them if not.

Let's go with the new rules that Scott is putting in place. We still have the draft that is different (yes it is growing on me). We may not always have a TC that is willing to do what he has been doing.

If Scott changes the release notification news item to show the contract terms, we won't need TC to do anything.

I would like us to stay with what our current rules are - it is not that difficult.

In a rather alarming turn of events I am in complete agreement with stumps . I love the way the contract situation is working now. And if it is possible for Scott to make the changes that stumpy suggested monitoring the system would become much easier.
