Just to clarify - we can go over the salary cap with the draft as long as we're under by day 1, right? If so, then will the cap being set at 0% excess cause a problem with this? I mean will the system let teams have the players putting them over the limit? If not then can we have all current players contract lengths set to 0 so we can either sign them up or release them so we know what kind of salary limit we've got to work with when drafting. Maybe get them set at 0 now anyway as the results of negotiations with them could play a part in draft and FA signing strategies.

Good luck staying under the cap with 8 picks!
HA! you of little faith, it could be done easily
<font size="2" face="Sylfaen, Verdana, Helvetica">Of course it can be done, but there really isn't much point trading for picks if you have to draft crap players that most people already have on their rosters. What was the point in giving up whatever you had to be given up to get them?Originally posted by The 4 Horsemen 11:

depends on what you want ...
i dont plan to pick up 8 10M dollar players nor would i want to
<font size="2" face="Sylfaen, Verdana, Helvetica">No but even if you only get one guy at 9 mil that leaves about 28mil for the other 7 guys. Or you could just go for 8 guys at about 4.7 mil each. Either way i will watch your picks with interest Originally posted by Fasttracker:

Is there any way we can find out if they can be reset to 0 asap. (read can we ask Scott?). I mean the issue of draft and salary cap may not be significant to some, but to others it is. At the moment I have players who I don't want because they are crap, who I can't sign because they are contracted, and who I can't drop because I only have 2 of in those positions. So can we at least sign them so we know what we've got to work with in the draft? So if I try and stay under the salary cap and plan my draft around the current players, then it comes to sign those players and I can't sign them to my terms and keep under the cap. I would like to sign some of my players to multiple year contracts, but if I draft to stay under the cap I may not be able to. If it's a big job for Scott then I can understand, but there's no harm in asking, right?
I never saw an explanation. Why can't we negotiate contracts right now?
