    Ballinteer 5-10 Ballyboden 1-11
Good win for Intermediates over the auld enemy.
Ballinteer trailed after 20 minutes 1-4 to 0-3
goals from Fergal Chambers and Colm Morrissy ensured Ballinteer lead 2-5 to 0-4 at half time after playing into a moderate breeze. Another goal from Chambers just after halt time put Ballinteer in the driving seat. Playing with the breeze in the second half ballinteer never looked like surrendering their lead. Best for Ballinteer on the day were Colm Duffy, Tom Delaney, Eoin Walsh, Shane O'Connor, Fergal Chambers and Colm Morrissy. A fierce drinking session took place in the clubhouse afterwards. This win puts Ballinteer on joint top of the league Championship with Finbarrs, but its very tight up there with Boden, Marks, Na fianna and possibly Trinity Gaels all still in striking distance to take the top spot meaning an automatic spot in the championship semi final. Next game Sunday 16th October away to a dogged trinity Gaels side. This will be a tough game and the team will need to get their feet back on the ground quickly in order to prevail. All Support welcome

    Ballinteer 2-16 Na Fianna 2-11

Hard fought win for Hurlers on Saturday Afternoon against a previously unbeaten Na Fianna side in the Intermediate Championship. Ballinteer hurled well in the opening half despite the loss of Ciaran Lane to a head injury (15 stiches worth). As a direct result of the incident Dagsy Hayes has been re-christened the Ballinteer Butcher. Most of the scores in the opening period came from free's with Eoin Murphy and Denis Flannagan accurate from the dead ball.Ballinteer lead by 2-9 to 0-5 but just goals immediately before and after half time cut the deficit to 4. Ballinteer struggled from then on in and after a sustained period of pressure Na Fianna had cut the deficit to the slenderist of margin. But with the introduction of mssr's Davis, O riain and the re-introduction of Lane Ballinteer began to re-dominate the game. Two frees from Murphy along with scores from young Joey maher and Davis ensured Ballinteer scored the last 4 points and left Mobhi road with a five point victory. In the end it was a hard fought victory but Ballinteer failed to kill the game in the second period and this will need to be addressed. That said Ballinteer played some good hurling throughout with the likes of Tom Delaney, Denis Flannagan and Ciaran Lane on his re-introduction particularly impressing. This again leaves Ballinteer on joint top with Naomh Fionnbara with one game against Trinity Gaels still left to play. Victory against Trinity Gaels will guarantee a place in the Intermediate semi-final but victory here will be anything but easy. This game looks likely to be fixed for next weekend throwing up a worrying fixture clash with both The senior and Junior A footballers in action. Championship to take precedence? Time will tell.

Due to fixture pressure the County Board has written off the final round of games in the Intermediate Championship. This means that Ballinteer have been put into the Championship semi-final, which will be played next wednesday night under floodlights with time, venue and opposition to be confirmed. I will post the details as soon as they are known

Thanks for the update. I looked at the fixture listings and was suprised to see that the Intermediate Hurlers had no game this weekend. This explains why.

So championship semi-final under floodlights?..interesting ...any idea who we will be playing?

    Trinity Gaels 1-14 Ballinteer 1-10

Even the bright lights of parnell park couldn't light up a dull Ballinteer pereformance last night as the intermediates were dumped out of the Intermediate hurling championship by an older and more experienced side. Outplayed, ballinteer could only manage 1-3 from play in an hours hurling as up front they struggled to break down Trinity Gaels reargaurd.
the two sides exchanged scores but a goal for Trinity Gaels on 20 minutes proved crucial.
    H/t score Trinity Gaels 1-8 Ballinteer 1-4
The closest they came was to 2 points but as they pressed they left gaps around the centre of the field in particular and were duly punished by accurate point-taking. There could be no arguments the better side on the night won. Outstanding individual performances were thin on the ground but best on the night were Cian Morrissy, Dagsy Hayes and Cormac O' Brien.
A dissapointing end to a long hard season
