(Rob: okay, okay, here you go...)

WEEK 8

1. Ron vs. MJ: Two third-place teams square off, with each needing a win to get into second-place (remember, only the top *two* teams in each division make it to the playoffs). Ron has been getting lucky with Joey Harrington and the Dolphins, but can his luck hold out? I hope not. Meanwhile, the Gross Miscarriage has dropped its last two games, and needs a win to avoid making fun of itself. Awkward!

2. Darren vs. Rob: The trash talk game. The Supremacy needs this game to continue challenging Megan for the top spot -- or at least hold onto their second-seed -- while the Slayers need a victory to muscle their way into third place. The results of the Ron/MJ game will matter a lot here.

3. Murray vs. Jeri: Like Darren, Jeri also needs a win to either challenge, or hold on to her second-seed. Murray's bread-and-butter, the Cardinal's wide receivers, betrayed him badly last week, and with a rookie QB, things in that locker room could get interesting. Last year at this point, Jeri was 1-6!

4. Megan vs. Jose: A possible championship preview? Megan managed to do the impossible last week, and with most of her team back from a bye, the rout could be on. Still, Donovan McNabb just might end up MVP of the league, so who knows. Jose, like Megan, needs a victory to keep his closest competitor at bay, so this will be a key game for both.

5. Jon vs. Anthony: Yikes. If this game were on television, it'd be blacked-out!

That's it. Yes, I know it was a cheap shot, but come on. My turn is coming eventually.

Bye weeks: Buffalo, Detroit, Miami, Washington

The Miscarriage lineup. So sad.

QB: SEA
RB: PITT (I'd like to start New Orleans here, but Baltimore is too good against the run. This pick will backfire.)
WR: NYG
K: BALT
TS: IND
TD: ATL (This is the experiment pick. The smart choice would be Tampa Bay against the Giants -- but I'm already starting the Giants' receivers, and I'm experimenting with different teams in each category, if only to avoid competing with myself. And if this makes sense to you, you're probably over-thinking this as much as I am).

That's it. You know the funny part? Because Ron never changes his lineup -- and because Miami has a bye -- most of his team defaults back to his starters from week one, back when he posted 81 points and beat Darren by 24. Chances are I will go down in flames on Sunday.

Seriously, that's hysterical, isn't it?

QB: Steelers. Peter King says always play Peyton Manning as your quarterback, unless he's playing a tough team (Denver) on the road (Denver). Here's hoping ol' concussion head stays hot in Oakland.

RB: Patriots.

WR: Bears. Rex better come out throwing.

K: Colts.

TS: Eagles. Wow. Because they play at home against the banged up Jags. And because the TonyRomos play on the road againt John Fox.

TD: Giants. I told you I fired the Birds, sort of.

Coach Blackadder: Baldrik, I have a cunning plan!

Asst. Coach Baldrik: Again?

Blackadder: I've hired a team of hookers to tire out the Slaycity Slayers before the game.

Baldrik: Sir, the Slayers team is comprised completely of robots.

Blackadder: Oh. Maybe I should hire some toatsers then?

Baldrik: Maybe we should just start a better lineup than them.

Blackadder: I've got it! We'll line the field with land mines and fire pits! We'll bribe the referees for a play or two! We'll replace the pigskin with an exploding ball, and use jetpacks, and...

Baldrik: Here's our lineup.

QB: ARI (I don't trust these guys, but I have no choice.)
RB: DEN
WR: PHI
K: MIN
TS: SEA
TD: NO (New Orleans isn't the best defense in town, but Balimore isn't the best offense in town. I'm keeping my fingers crossd here.)

12:58 Rob? Two minutes short of me calling shennanigans on you.

Looks like that Seattle game is pretty big. I didn't pick them for TD because I'm expecting a shootout, but every score they get counts twice for me. I can't believe you trust the Chiefs!

That's ok Lenda, cuz NO is gonna be Baltimore's Cellblock bitch and the pts. you get from Seattle won't matter.

Wink

I am so glad I am not playing Anthony or Megan this week. Poor poor San Fran.
