A bit quite on this hostboard!
I've recently reinstalled my EWS64P into a 700MHz Pentium and I'm getting very good results. Sync is perfect. However, there's something happening that I am not understanding; when I play an audio recording, the volume is often initially higher (for the first few milliseconds) and then comes back to the right value. If I replay the track then the volume will be right. I thought this was to do with Smartclip in the EWS software, but I've turned that off.

    Hi Ed,

I've never heard from such a problem before :-(

Perhaps yor "Preroll Time" in Cubase menu "Synchronisation" is to short (or to big?).
That's my only idea for the moment.

    Regards
    Werner

Thanks. It's not a big problem as you just play it twice and the sound levels are correct.
Getting excellent recording quality from the EWS with Cubase. It's too complicated, but when you do get all the settings right it works really well. I am using EWS drum samples, VST bass guitar, live guitars and vocals, and your advice and the information on the web site helped me a lot.
So is this forum officially dead? It's a shame; I'd like to discuss music with people, but it's a very lonely place!

    Thanks for all your help,
    Ed

I'll try your suggestion of adjusting preroll by the way.
