Thread: installation problem / synthesizer / code 10

    Hello!
    Could someone help me with the installation problem?
    I have installed EWS64XL, latest driver and applications, but there is still an exclamation mark in front of "Terratec synthesizer". In properties the error message is "device is not in use (etc.)" (code 10).
    Also, "System board extension for PnP BIOS" has the same message. Has it something to do with this?
    this shouldn't be any IRQ-problem, at least the IRQ-list doesn't show any conflicts.
    So, could someone explain me what it could be?

    I cant explain, but I can make a suggestion.
    Delete the synthesizer driver and reboot windows. If Windows does not recognize the "new" hardware, use the tool "EWS64CFG" from the driver CD (must be in DOS mode) and just press OK, restart Windows. If there's still an exclamation mark in hardware manager, use the remove tool from driver CD and reinstall all EWS drivers. If this still does not work, I don't have any more ideas. Last possibility is to format your harddisk and reinstall Windows.
