I have come across a 416-8A Spkr. I have no info on it. I think it is 30 watts 8ohm. What was this used for and might it make a decent guitar amp spkr?

    Hi Rusty,

I have some specs on the 416-8A. I believe it has a power handling capacity of 75 watts. It was the third generation bass driver for the A-7 Voice of the Theater systems and later on, the Valencia home version speaker, circa 1972. It is NOT suitable for musical instrument use, especially guitar. I have, on occasion, ran a keyboard through my A-7's but at low levels. You will fry this driver if you try putting a guitar through it. You can mic a guitar amp at medium levels though. Hope this helps...Lee forums
