dumb question about neg and pos

Hi All, my system has been down for almost one year and I am now just getting it back up and running. I am running a 288C and can not remember if the 1 post is the possitive and the 2 post is the negative or is the other way around. Thanks in advance. I will post a full update as soon as I get the new system tweeked. Cheers.

(1) is always positive (diaphragm moves outward) on Altecs unless somebody screwed up, just understand that on a compression driver that means it's acoustically opposite of the woofer since the motor is physically reversed, so according to Altec, if the VCs are aligned, positive from the XO goes to (2) and for baffle mount it goes to (1).
