    EBAY shipping question

    Hey guys,

When a seller says no shipping, you make the arrangements, how does one go about that?

I found a mate to my 9849 in Florida, and I'm in Oregon. So pickup isn't an option.

And...why don't ebay sellers answer email?

    Ron

    Hi Ron,

I'd contact Craters and Freighters at:

    http://www.cratersandfreighters.com/cf/welcome.do

There's a branch nearby (~20 miles) in Titusville (32780 zip code)

I'm not sure..... I guess start calling shipping companies and see if they'll pick something up along with putting it on a pallet/crate. I'd guess it won' be cheap.

Yes, I saw that auction...... looking to make sure it wasn't a mate to my 9864-8A :-)

That's a new listing isn't it...... give the guy a day or two, then send another email. My policy is to not bid if the seller won't answer.

    Re: EBAY shipping question

You've gotten good answers, just wanted to add have had some success in talking sellers in dropping the item at a shipper, many times offering $10-15 for gas is cheaper than having the shipper pick it up.

    Re: EBAY shipping question

    Chris,
Uship is a service that connects movers with customers needing items transported, much in the same way that ebay connects buyers and sellers.

You can arrange shipping/moving for practically anything you can imagine, tho it works best for items either too large or requiring special handling considerations that just cannot be met by the common carriers.

I currently have a pair of LARGE Altecs en route with a mover arranged thru Uship.

Basically you place a listing describing the type of item you need moved, any special handling or other considerations, point of origin, and destination. Then, movers, truckers, and individuals who are registered with Uship enter bids(quotes) for your move. They have feedback ratings similar to ebay's system that allow you to view other moves a prospective provider has made as well as comments from the customers.

My experience is limited to 4 or 5 moves arranged this way, but it's been all positive so far.

    Re: EBAY shipping question

    Hey Bowtie,

What has been you average price of lets say ~500 pounds on a pallet @~600 miles? What was your estimate? Have you had to have anything sent that far or further??... Would rather inquire here than give them all my info yet....

    Thanks,,,
