My favorite CD (this week) to listen to through my model 19's is the Mobile Fidelity version of the Who Quadrophenia. It's a remaster of the ORIGINAL mix--right off the original stereo master tapes and IMHO it's by far the best sounding version of what may be one of the "greatest" rock albums of all time. The Who remixed all of their albums in the 90's and I know I'm the minority but I can't listen to any of the remixes. When I play Who's Next, for example, I want to hear the Who's Next that I grew up with--not a remixed version. Before the who remixed their entire catalog for CD they had released (at least) two previous versions of their catalog on CD. The first version of each album was a "muddy/hissy" sounding version of the original mix of each album, followed by a remastered version of the ORIGINAL mix of each album. I know a lot of people who love the remixes, but in my mind it's sacrilege to remix a masterpiece unless you also make the original mix available as well. Unfortunately, when the Who remixed their catalog, (like many other bands) they no longer produced CDs of the original mixes until recently-- many of them are available as "deluxe versions"--remastered from the original mix stereo master tapes. I was thrilled to find a sealed version of the Mobile Fidelity Original Master recording of Quadrophenia (remastered version of the original mix). So, this week, that's my favorite--sounds incredible on Model 19's.....

I just received a Sonny Landreth album titled South of I-10 and love it. I first heard him when he played with Mark Knopfler on his Night In London concert. If you like very good slide guitar he wont disappoint. Also if you like diverse music he's your man. I'll bet even Feesh likes him.

Well I used the embedded code that the Utube provided, but this site did not like it. So, I just copied & pasted the link ... now it works!! I just figured out how long The Flaming Lips had been making music....

Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.
Here's a cool one that I happened to record at the Pepsi Center .I happen to think it was cool because she brought the house down with this little rendition. It is one of Roger Waters back-up singers Carol Kenyon belting out the "Great Gig In The Sky" from the Dark Side of the Moon Tour, show date 4/30/08 .
