I found these gems last week on eBay and couldn't beleive my eye's a pair of 4B's in mint condition with barely a mark on them.And they even had a buy it now my mouse clicker was sent into overdrive !!!! To say these are Rare would be a gross understatement.And these are only the 2nd pair I have ever seen in my life I thought I would never see another set let alone in this condition.I was talking with a friend Dave "Wojo" and he said he remembers when these came out Altec marketed these in an old Buick ragtop with a pair of A-7's in the back seat Voice Of The Highway. They are like having 15" speakers in your car with 4.4 lb magnets that are the same size as a 604 4.4 lb and twice the size as a 416 2.4 lb I put a lighter on the magnet to give it some scale.

The magnet size comparison doesn't bear out, comparing Ferrite to Alnico.

OG your right as usual but still a huge magnet 2000g or 72 oz. for a 6x9 agreed, and I thought I got up early enough Damn I'll have to get up an hour earlier tomorrow

Friend of mine owned a pair in his 1974 AMC Gremlin. I think the speakers were more valuable then the car....I KNOW they were far better looking.

They sounded EXCELLENT. Used his stock AM/FM radio (with 8-track). I think it was pushing a wopping 4 watts.

I have had an original 35"x24" poster on the wall in my garage for 32 years. The happy couple in the front seat, Mark & Gabriella, were employee's at the Anaheim facility. The off-white 65-67 Buick Skylark may have belonged to an employee, as well. The caption reads, "Once there was only one way to hear great speakers in a car.......now there is another." I'd like to have the car today, as well.

My brother has a pair mounted in his garage. They were in his Camaro years ago.
I influenced him even way back when! We are in our 50's now.
These come across Ebay from time to time.
Not sure if they were the cats meow, but they are rare.
I remember that ad!

Priceless. After being up on that wall for 32 years, the edges are a little frayed, it's a little faded, and the white background is slightly discolored. Think I'll just leave it up and make sure it stays intact.
I remember them keeping all the "Voice Of The Highway" inventory locked up in a chain link cage with all the microphone stock. As you can quite imagine, they were quite popular.
