I'm Ready to Build My Altecs......

now my current project is finished(see below). The amp was scratch built from a Soldano Atomic 16 schematic which is freely available on the net. I added an FX loop described in Kevin O'Connor's 'The Ultimate Tone' book.

The Altec enclosures will be BR or similar(approx. 15 cu.ft.). Components are 416-8B, 808-8A(Symbiotic) and baby-cheek JBL tweets. I may try Al. diaphragms in the 808s and dispense with the JBLs. Tri or bi-amping is planned.
