But I'm also not a man who thinks
every 15' speaker sounds the same it is a 15' speaker or
every 6SN7 tube sounds the same because it is a 6SN7 tube or
every interconnect sounds the same because it is a interconnect or
every cable sounds like a lamp cord, because a lamp cord is also a cable.

I started a new thread called "My Altec A10" because that is what I have. But it is in response to this thread. The A9 and A10 systems have a lot in common with the A7, but without the short LF horn which was depreciated by Grass Valley & Associates with the introduction of the LF delay (Cinerama).

I got a big chuckle from the previous response regarding cables and lamp cord. I've been designing and, on occasion, installing sound systems for over 50 years. I use and recommend lamp cord with soldered or crimped ends. I posted an IMHO in the Monster cable discussion to this effect. I am also if the opinion that a 6' speaker cable is excessively long, unless it of the 70v kind.

Please - let's not start a another cable thread / cable war. There are enough of those on other forums.

Some folks like fancy cables, some don't. Most of the users here don't.
Can we leave it at that, please?
