Today all searches are coming back with 0 results.
I know search is extemely important to you and we have been re-indexing the over 1.8 million posts which is taking forever... The default software's search is slow to say the least and in our initial tests over on the test server it actualy has the ability to impact the server's performance given many searches at one time.
Thus, we have a new solution that will be installed and running within the nexdt 48 hours. The product is called Sphinx and testing is showing a close to 400% increase in speed with minimal impact to the server. The product is a backend product so the interface will remain the same.
Again I appologize for the delays but as you know one of the major goals was to address speed issues that have plagued us for so long and we want to continue to address it at each and every turn we make.

OTOH, Google "Site Search" works perfectly;
http://www.google.com/search?sourcei....hostboard.com
When run from the Google toolbar, it's quicker and easier than any site's internal search. Get chummy with it, and you can even find stuff a lazy webmaster didn't want you to see.

Nope it has to work internaly, work well and quickly without impacting the sites performance. We have the solution and we're working on getting it installed...

Thanks Steven for pursuing a fix to the search engine issues .

Quick update, Sphynx is installed and fully operational. We have a small configuration change that needs to be made before we open it up to everyone. So just waiting at the moment for an update from our server guys. Will update as soon as I hear back...
