Well, the 828 boxes do lack a good handle I guess. ;-)

Still kicking myself for going with the cheaper 813-C's, than the westlakes I last saw available for 2K/pair. BBSM12's iirc. Should'a forked out to try them.

I just clicked on his Ebay feedback score to see what he's been selling on Ebay lately. Most of his sold items were under $2000--I guess it's no surprise he's not moving much of the six figure gear (at least not on Ebay). By the way, Alan/Analog Addict, I see he's sold multiple items by your friend's (former) company, CARY AUDIO......

Yeah I did.And at the top it states “I am very happy with the $68,000 amps you sent to me here in Russia - all went smooth and prompt. Aleksandr Nasonov.” I am Happy with the $68,000 amps you sent me.Is it me or does that sound Odd ? You would think he would mention the quality not the price !

Rip-Off comes to mind hear IMHO .... $1000,$2000, cables

Uuuuuuuugh, you know better now, that was pennies on the dollar of the msrp. Westlakes aren't just another speaker, they're truly something special. They support everything they've ever made ya know? BBSM-10's here, to say they're hi resolution would understate them. Biggest revelation in a loudspeaker for me personally since my first pair of big Altecs. They need a real amplifier to drive them as they go as low as 2.5 ohms, but they're still fairly efficient. As you know, the Westlake monitors are all nearly point source, imaging is almost unrealistically detailed with a huge, deep soundstage. They have fast attack Altec like dynamics, and you can listen to them at high spl's for a looooooooooooong time with zero listener fatigue. I abuse them and simultaneously heat the room with a Krell FPB, a perfect match IMO. If money were no object, i'd have as many pairs of Westlakes as Altecs, and i'd still be Altec shopping.

    Apologies for the OT fellas...............

Sometimes it's probably a good idea to quietly disapprove, but outwardly respect the beliefs(sometimes knowledge) of other fellow enthusiasts.

Don't get me wrong, i am not personally offended, nor am i attempting to defend the seller from the OP. I'm thinking more along the lines of the multiple high end hifi enthusiasts in the USA and abroad that cherish and use vintage Altec as well as new GPA hardware in their systems that have a good bundle more than that invested in their cables, some on a magnitude of 10 or more. Some of them might take offense.

    I'm just sayin'..................

Bowtie ? I'm with Todd on this one ! Prices are Ridiculous in the name of high end Gear. Some of them might take offense ? For what ? Spending thousands of dollars on gear they could get for a fraction of that cost ! They must be oxygen free. I have no problem with high end gear ! Legitimate High End Gear ! I personally feel he is trying to take advantage of folk's,the reason for my post.

BTW: You wouldn't have a $2000 pair of cables lying around your house would ya ? Buddy ? I was just giving an Honest Opinion. A whole $.02 worth.

Probably one of the reasons I love Altec so much, other than their Awesome Sound. For a reasonable amount of money ( at one time anyway) they are hard to beat dollar wise !! Great Value for your hard earned greenbacks.

Especially if you get them for $20.00
