Sad to see those EH500s chopped up like that / they are a well designed , solidily built, radial horn .
I use a pair with my 288-8Ks ( with 1.4 to 2" adapter ).
Think of them as an 811E ( without the vanes in the bell ) .
They work really great as a 800hz horn for home HiFi duties ( especially when used with a high compliance driver like the 288 that sports an Fs well below the Fc of the horn ).

Yup it's beyond me why someone would even consider it in the first place.I would first try to find a smaller horn to fit the purpose then to take a band saw to them.
