    Yes I remember these ! Very Nice Ward ! I love the Sapele, Pommele veneer, it is just beautiful... Now that you have listened to them for some time how do they sound with the Altecs in them ? I'm curious have you tried an Altec 416 for the woofers ?

    I started with Altec 416-8C but the bass just wasn't "right" for me. The JBL 2235H gives me the low end punch and keeps it tight. I have five systems at home and these are my favorite. When I want to do serious listening, this is the system I listen to.

    As we all know, the Altec mids are sublime. They are open, airy, liquid and smooth. I did coat the back of the horn and have lead weight both in the top lip and hung around the throat. The horn does not ring.

    The 077 gives the top end "sizzle" that I like.
