    You mean comparing computer loudspeakers? No one I know has 1/8 inch jacks on their speakers.

    Here is a real speaker switch.
    speaker switch
    Not Altec, but I built it a few years back. Allows 2 different amps to be connected to 5 different pairs of speakers. No common ground. I used the most heavy-duty rotary switch that would fit in the box.
    Actually been used as intended. Works well. Now gathering dust on a shelf. The wire ties are because the screws went missing somewhere in Denver.
