Wow, what a deal on the 604s. $9K to buy...$820 to ship...and $800 to rebuild two 70 year old speakers. Alas, I think I will pass.

But I am in the market for a pair if anyone hears anything. I just passed on a pair of 515Bs that went on ebay for $1125. They looked clean. I was in for $800.

IMO, the seller was quite generous in his description. If those are the best he's seen, he hasn't seen very many 515B auctions. I think they brought fair money. If his pics showed them as clean and nice as they were described, i could see them bringing a few hundred more.

Those are very interesting................... Panasonic!

Looks like they were competing directly with Fukuin(Pioneer) PAX series.

When and if I decide to quit the day job, there is definitely a business in buying ebay stuff from reputable sellers with bad cameras and reselling.

I'm a bit of a photo buff and I can't tell you how many cameras I've bought, played with for a while, and then resold for 20-30% more by taking really good pictures with good lighting etc. Like you say, people will pay up if they can really see what they are getting.
