Nothing like a great big pair of speakers to make your day.

    The OP is in WV.

I need to start looking on Craigslist again. I quit becasue what I found was typically over priced musical instrument gear.

Pretty sure it wasn't the same pair as they were both perfectly intact with grills and Altec Lansing badges. Somebody contacted me about them after this thread was started.

EDIT: Perhaps it was the same pair. I went back and found the pic and only one cabinet is shown clearly, so i can't verify that the other was free of damage. I really wanted the badges for a project and would have probably ponied up the 100 for just those, but the 1400-1600 mile round trip didn't seem to make much sense.

I was able to dig thru my stash and find a clean pair of 1233/1234 grills and will use the upper aluminum trim pieces and compromise for badges that just say "Altec" on them.

This is what the 9864/DTS-645 grill badge looks like. i like that it incorporates the "Maestro":

    9894....... it's the same except has a 90 degree horn instead of a 60.

My 9864 didn't come with a badge. It also doesn't have the proper connector plate, but rather an M500 crossover. I guess for city planning meetings bi-amping was considered a bit overkill :-)

I wonder what I did with the aluminum channels that came from my 1221A stage monitors. I don't know what I did with them. Either I gave them to the guy that took the cabinets, I sold them at AKfest, or they're still in my basement.

My 9864 didn't have a badge. I've got the grill, but it's unattached. It was painted with goopy latex paint just like the rest of the cabinet.
